Schoolhouse Fenwick –  Terms and Conditions

 

Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions as agreed to at the time of booking.

  • Contract: A contract between you and the owner will come into existence when we receive payment and accept your booking by issuing a confirmation of booking for the holiday dates. The contract binds you and all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms and conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract and loss of the booking. Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age. The owner reserves the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
  • Deposits: A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the holiday price is payable at the time of booking. Bookings made less than eight weeks before your arrival date must be accompanied by the full amount of the holiday charge. The balance must be paid so as to arrive no later than eight weeks before the commencement of your holiday. If the balance is not received by the due date then your holiday will be treated as a cancellation and the client will remain liable to pay the balance of the rent.
  • Cancellations: All cancellations must be immediately notified by telephone and then in writing. If you cancel your holiday more than 8 weeks before it is due to start, then your deposit will be forfeit. If you cancel 4 to 8 weeks prior to the holiday, then 50% of the total holiday cost is due, 2 to 4 weeks then 75% and less than 2 weeks 100%. We will do what is reasonable to try to relet the property for the best possible price.  If this occurs we will refund payment to the amount of the new booking payment.
  • Cancellations by the owner: Your booking will not be cancelled by the owner except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification will be given of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
  • Force Majeure: We cannot accept liability or responsibility for any alterations, delay or cancellation or any other loss or damage caused by war, civil strife, terrorist action, industrial disputes, fire, sickness, bad weather, livestock, epidemics, pandemics, acts of any government or public authority, changes imposed by re-scheduling of airlines, ferries or any event outside of our control.
  • Travel Insurance: We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation. 
  • Occupancy: The number of persons using the accommodation at any time must not exceed 6 and only those people listed on the booking form can occupy the property. We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without refund in case of a breach of this condition.  Please note all children (i.e. guests under the age of 18) must be supervised by their parents/guardians at all times. No commencial photography or filming allowed.
  • Arrival and Departure times: The property is available from 4.00pm on the arrival date. Guests are required to vacate the apartment by 10am (Accessible Stays 11.00am) on the day of departure, allowing the accommodation to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests.  Please leave the property in the condition that you found it, strip the beds and leave bed linen and towels on the floor, main keys in the hamper basket, initial access key back in the garden door key safe and return the central heating to 12 degrees.
  • Internet: The internet connection is available subject to technical availability.
  • Pets and Smoking: Pets (exception for assistance dogs) or smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes anywhere on the premises will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments.
  • Damage to the property: In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you or any member of your party. Please treat the facilities and accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage in your accommodation please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there have been any breakages or damage during your stay, we would be grateful if you could replace them or advise us before you leave. The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday, and you may be charged for any loss or damage found. The owner reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition. 
  • Security: Remind your guests to lock the doors and close the windows when they leave the property unoccupied. If any keys issued are not returned at the end of your stay, then the cost of replacement will be charged to you.
  • Specialist Equipment: The Schoolhouse has a selection of specialist equipment available free of charge. The owner cannot be held liable for the non-availability due to a temporary defect or malfunction or other non-foreseeable event which is beyond our reasonable control. The specialist equipment is solely provided for guests who need it and have pre-arranged this at their time of booking.  All other guests are requested to not use the specialised equipment.  The ceiling mounted hoists and adjustable height shower/changing bed are for use by guests and carers who are already familiar with such equipment as no training will be given. Please ensure you bring your own slings.
  • Personal Injury: The owner will not accept responsibility for injury or loss/damage to personal property during your stay.
  • Covid regulations: If you display covid symptoms prior to your arrival you must not set out on your journey. If you develop symptoms whilst on your stay you must return home immediately to self-isolate.
  • Unreasonable behaviour: We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others.
  • Essential Maintenance: The owner, or their representative, reserve the right to enter the property at any time to undertake essential maintenance or for inspection purposes.
  • Complaints: Any problem or complaint which the client may have concerning their holiday must be immediately reported, directly to the owner who will endeavour to put matters right. Any complaints not reported at the time and only reported after the client has returned from holiday will not be considered.
  • Amendments: We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.
